Colorado AHEC Program and the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus are working to encourage rural and underserved high school students to explore health profession careers. Colorado AHEC also administers a health career scholars program to graduate health professions students who opt to practice in rural or other underserved sites. Most significantly, the Health Professions Workforce Initiative developed and continues to support a multidisciplinary curriculum and training program for rural track health professions students.
